The South Mountain Relic and Coin Club held their first official meeting in April of 1992. Thirty-five people were present and the meeting was located in the stone building in Byron Park in Williamsport, Md. At that meeting our first officers were elected and everyone present became a member. The original name of the club was the Blue Ridge Coin and Recovery Club. However that particular name was already taken and another had to be chosen fast. Dana Fox, the first secretary of the club, submitted the new name of South Mountain Relic and Coin Club and that is the name still currently used today. Today we have 35 members in the club still active, and several of them are original members. If anyone is interested in the hobby of metal detecting and would like to join or receive more information on our club or the hobby itself, please contact us at president@smrcc.com.

 The South Mountain Relic & Coin Club would like to invite anyone interested in Civil War preservation and recovery of relics and coins with metal detectors.We have a monthly display of artifacts recovered from Civil War sites and Colonial Home sites that prove very interesting.We have 35 members at the present and still growing.We would like to extend a welcome back to any previous members who may not know our club is still active since our move to a new meeting place.. .We believe that our club has a strong following of Civil War enthusiasts who share knowledge and years of experience in the hobby of metal detecting. We welcome you to our next meeting and know that you do not have to join to listen to the presentations.One meeting is all it takes to discover a new world of Treasure Hunting.
